The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the Orientation Session of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) on 7th March 2025, in collaboration with the IIIE Belapur Chapter. The program commenced at 11:45 AM, with a warm welcome extended to all guests and attendees by Prof. Rahul Thavai. The session began with a recitation of holy verses from the Quran by Mr. Rehan Khan.
Prof. Javed Kazi, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, felicitated Dr. S.D. Dalvi, Chairman of the IIIE Belapur Chapter, while Dr. Mohd. Asif Gandhi honored Dr. Nimisha Shirbhate, Honorary Joint Secretary of the IIIE Belapur Chapter.
Dr. S.D. Dalvi addressed the attendees, elaborating on the institution’s vision, mission, objectives, history, and significant milestones. Following this, Dr. Nimisha Shirbhate provided valuable guidance to students about key activities, membership benefits, and other opportunities within IIIE. Two students from LTCOE shared their enriching experiences as members of the IIIE Student Chapter.
Prof. Javed Kazi emphasized the importance of such professional bodies in enhancing career prospects and fostering professional growth. The session concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Mujib Tamboli. The program was also attended by Prof. Atul Meshram, Prof. Yusuf Khan, and Prof. Ashfaq Jamkandikar.
