The K12 Energy Conservation Awareness Activity aimed to educate students about the relationship between electricity generation, fossil fuel consumption, and carbon footprints through relatable examples and practical demonstrations. Students learned about energy-saving habits, including maintaining air conditioners at 24°C–26°C, unplugging standby devices, maximizing natural daylight and cross-ventilation, using energy-efficient LED lighting, and understanding Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) Star rating labels. The activity also highlighted renewable and non-renewable energy resources, solar rooftop systems, and ways to reduce electricity wastage in classrooms and homes.
An interactive quiz was conducted to reinforce these concepts through structured rounds covering renewable energy, household electrical efficiency, climate awareness, and energy-saving practices. Students participated in teams, demonstrating collaboration, quick thinking, and analytical skills. Audience questions and discussions further encouraged active participation, making the activity engaging and informative while promoting awareness of energy conservation and sustainable living.
