An Autonomous Institute Affiliated to the University of Mumbai
An educational visit to IIT Bombay was organized on 29 January 2026 for attending the E-Yantra Robotics Workshop, a prestigious Government of India funded initiative conducted by IIT Bombay. A total of 18 students from TE and BE, representing branches such as AIML, Data Science, Computer Engineering, ECS, and B.Sc. IT, participated in the visit along with one faculty member.
During the workshop, the experts from IIT Bombay provided detailed insights into the E-Yantra Robotics program, its objectives, and its role in promoting robotics education across India. The session mainly focused on the Agriculture theme, where real-time challenges faced by farmers were discussed, such as crop monitoring, irrigation issues, and labor dependency.
The students were introduced to various sensors used in robotics, different types of robots, and their applications in agricultural automation. The sessions also covered the importance of Linux operating systems in robotics, basics of robot programming, and how software integrates with hardware to solve real-world problems.
Experts (Dr. Ajit Harpude) explained how technology driven solutions using robotics and automation can help farmers improve productivity, reduce manual effort, and make farming more efficient. The interaction helped students understand real time challenges and how engineering solutions can be designed to address them using robotics, programming, and intelligent systems.
Overall, the visit was highly informative and inspiring. It enhanced students’ technical knowledge, exposed them to practical applications of robotics in agriculture, and motivated them to explore innovation-driven problem solving through technology.
